Baby Food Recipes



1 medium size eating apple, peeled, cored and chopped.                  
1 medium size dessert pear, peeled, cored and chopped.
3 tablespoons pure apple juice.
3 Tablespoons water.


Put the fruit and apple juice in a small saucepan with 3 tablespoons water. Bring to a boil.

Cook over a medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the fruit is tender. Cool slightly and then puree the fruit. Adjust the consistency with freshly boiled water.

Pureed apples and pears are ideal fruit for babies; on first taste they may be a little tart, however. If your baby isn’t tempted, try combining orchard fruit with sweeter fruit such as mashed banana or, when in season, fresh plums but not too many.
